Welcome to the Academic Computing Center (ACC) Academic Computing Center (ACC)The Academic Computing Center (ACC) at Hostos Community College is committed to provide students, faculty and instructional staff with computer equipment and support. The mission of the ACC is to provide academic departments with equipments and support needed by faculty to conduct their classes, to provide students with state of the art equipments and facilities to help them complete their academic work promoting the use of technology they will find in current work environments. The Academic Computing Center also provides the college community with places to hold conferences, workshops, and multimedia presentations. We also provide equipments, such as laptops, projectors, and sound systems, to instantly transform any room on campus into a modern computer lab or meeting room. The Academic Computing Center is located in the East Academic Complex, Building C, on the 5th floor and consists of: Academic Computing Center (ACC)Open Lab located in room C-595, which provides 95 state of the art computers available for current students and alumni every day of the Week. Two computer labs equipped with 30 computers each, printer, and smart board technology, which provides the ultimate teaching and learning experience. 17 Smart Rooms equipped with smart board technology that include projectors, touch-screen, DVD and VCR players, hi-resolution sound and audio/video recording capabilities. Computers on wheels (COW) which consist of 260 laptops, divided into 7 carts containing 30 laptops each, 2 carts containing 20 laptops each and 10 extras. These COWs give us the ability to transform any classroom on campus into a modern computer lab. 9 Multimedia Carts (MMC). These carts consist of one laptop, one projector and sound equipment. 3 LCD projectors. Students/alumni must present a valid Hostos College ID to access the Open Lab.
