Welcome to the Breathe Sunshine African Music Conference. Our conference takes place from 14-15 February 2014 and includes the Breathe Sunshine Unity Jam on Sunday 16 February. The Unity Jam takes place in Langa township at Gugu SThebe centre & Maragana Parkand and will celebrate cultural diversity in our city. Breathe Sunshine is a social enterprise and all profits are channeled back into empowerment projects and developing the entertainment industry. Our inaugural conference took place in 2013 in Cape Town and was established to encourage networking and the sharing of information between all involved in the African music community. The event attracted a diverse audience (and delegates) from as far afield as Johannesburg, Durban locally and internationally from Nigeria, Kenya, Angola, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Senegal, Holland, Ibiza, UK, Germany, Israel and the USA. The 2013 conference featured: • 70 panelists (8 panels) • 17 workshop hosts (8 workshops) • 15 DJs • 10 live acts and a VJ at the showcases • 17 exhibitor stands • 50 subsidised tickets to disadvantaged communities “BSAMC is the long overdue music conference the South African Music industry needs. Combining panel discussions, workshops and events, involving many of the country’s key players, BSAMC should be attended by anybody and everybody who is serious about their career in music.” BPM MAGAZINE This year we have introduced some new content including Breathe Sunshine Connect which presents anything relevant to the digital space in the entertainment industry. Headed up by African Dope Records founder Roach Roth, Connect brings together the sharpest minds in the digital media world and music industry to explore the current landscape and how we can leverage the space better for the future success of the industry.
