Welcome to the facebook page of Ranzau Arabians. We are a small Crabbet Arabian Stud situated in the lovely Orinoco Valley, in the Tasman/Nelson Region of the South Island of New Zealand. A new and very small stud, we are dedicated to the Crabbet bred Arabian and are hoping to build the pure Crabbet lines in NZ. I have owned purebred Arabians since a teenager and have always been passionate about the Crabbet lines. At present we own 2 pure Crabbet mares and 1 pure Crabbet gelding, all imported from Australia. My gelding is Inshallah Encounter, by Tommie (Banderol x Briolette) out of the beautiful Greylight daughter, Fenwick Rene. Our foundation mares are Inshallah Indiana again by Tommie out of the Crenel daughter Inshallah Impulse, a new arrival to NZ, being imported by me in Feb 2014. Our other mare is Fenwick Regenta by the Greylight stallion Fenwick Phantom out of the Sindh daughter Fenwick Regina, who was imported to NZ in 2006 by Lyn Marshall of Aurora Arabians. We will be forever grateful to Larry and Marillyn ODea of Inshallah Arabians in Australia and Lyn Marshall of Aurora stud in NZ for allowing us to have this opportunity to own such wonderful horses. Indiana is currently in foal to Inshallah Arabians young Crabbet stallion Monarch Lodge Ambition (Tommie x Pevensey Raida) which will introduce even more unique Crabbet lines to NZ. Her foal is eagerly awaited and September 2014 cant come soon enough. F.Regenta is currently on lease to Michelle Zielazo of Alasaan Performance horses in Canterbury. Michelle and I are both as passionate as each other about the Crabbet Arabian and we both have a dream to produce Crabbet Arabians that will be able to perform in all disciplines under saddle. Our stud Ranzau is named after an area in Nelson that my German ancestors settled in and named back in the 1840s. My grandmother who was a direct descendant of these early Nelson settlers left me some family money and it is with this that I have been able to start turning my dream of breeding and owning straight Crabbet Arabians into a reality. The area Ranzau is now renamed Hope which I feel is also an appropriate reference to how I feel about my future with this beautiful breed of horse. I hope you enjoy our page and I will be adding to it as time goes on.
