Welding Inspector - Level 1 - Temp x 6 Murray & Roberts - Witbank, Mpumalanga Temporary Job Summary Murray & Roberts Projects invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Welding Inspector - Temp for the Kusile Project reporting to the Welding Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Kusile Power Station to be erected at the Kusile Site at Mpumalanga ,Witbank, South Africa PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Generate all required welding information required by the Kusile Power Project. Key Responsibilities KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS: • The effective planning, organisation, coordination and control of activities as delegated by the Welding Manager. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Interpret all welding information i.e. material grades, dimensions, weld symbols etc on the Isometric Drawings. • Be conversed with WPS’s & PQR’s Essential Variables • Compile welding information onto the Welding and NDE Matrix Sheets • Proof read and ensure correctness of all information • Submit Welding and NDE Matrix Sheets to the NDE Coordinator as to include NDE requirements • Print and transmit Welding and NDE Matrix Sheets to the Work Package preparation team • Assist Welding Manager with any additional welding department related activities as required by the project • Liaise with the Client and AIA when required COMPETENCY PROFILE: ATTRIBUTES: • Courteous • Self motivated • Effective interaction abilities • Accuracy and methodical work ethics • Ability to work independently and under pressure • Focused on attention to detail and procedures Key Requirements EXPERIENCE: • Minimum 2 Years Power Industry Site operations exposure • Be familiar with Isometric and P&ID drawings • Be conversed with the following standards ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems ISO 3834 Quality requirements for the fusion welding of metallic materials EN 12952 Water-tube boilers and auxiliary installation EN 13480 Metallic industry piping AWS D 1.1 Structural steel • Familiar with Eskom KKS numbering system would be advantageous • Computer literate Education QUALIFICATIONS: • SAIW Level 1 Welding and Fabrication Inspector (SAQCC) • Qualified welder would be advantageous Apply online murrob/careers_vacancies.
