Welfare Fraud Arrests NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. Joint investigations by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Welfare Fraud Unit and Niagara County Department of Social Services have resulted in 15 arrests over the last month. The total amount these individuals received is over $28,000 and has led to multiple felony and misdemeanor charges against those involved. Charged in the investigations were: -Melinda Hunt of Niagara Falls – Welfare Fraud 5th Degree and Misuse of Food Stamps -Erik Johnson of Niagara Falls – Grand Larceny 4th, Welfare Fraud 4th, Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st -David Watts Sr. of Newfane – Filing a False Written Statement, Obstruction of Governmental Administration -Kayla Wittcop of Niagara Falls - Grand Larceny 4th, Welfare Fraud 4th, Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st -Tyrone Jones of Niagara Falls - Grand Larceny 4th, Welfare Fraud 4th, Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st -Shawn Kennedy of Niagara Falls – Misuse of Food Stamps ift.tt/1on4GJq
