Well, 12s, that was a game we wont soon forget. To start, because of some unfortunate plays, the Packers were able to take advantage and soon built a 16 - 0 lead going into half-time. Because of the NFLs #1 defense, the Pack could not score but 1 touchdown and 3 field goals. By then many of the fans were wondering what is going on, and when that happens, doubt begins to set in. Then in the 3rd quarter, facing 4th-and-10 from the 19-yard line, down 16-0 late in the third quarter, Seattle lined up for a field goal to finally put some points on the board. But instead of Steve Hauschka kicking, punter Jon Ryan took the snap and rolled left and hit backup offensive tackle Garry Gilliam for the touchdown. It was the first career reception for the 6-foot-5, 308-pound undrafted rookie, who played some tight end as well at Penn State. Seattle ran that play all week in practice. In the meantime, the Packers were able to kick another field goal in the 4th quarter making the score 19 - 7. What a great run by Beast Mode for a score making the score 19 - 14. Now it seemed that the tide had turned and the Seahawks had the momentum. Next time down the field, Russell was able to run it in and with a 2 point conversion finally moved the Seahawks ahead 22 - 19 with time running out. But unfortunately, Rogers was his usual effecient self and quickly drove his team into FG range where they were able to tack on 3 to tie, and sent the game into overtime. For what I heard, with several minutes left, lots of so-called 12s decided to leave. Too bad they missed an exciting finish. What a thing of beauty when the Hawks won the coin toss and Russell, the ever focused QB weve seen many times before, marched the team down field, and that 60 yard pass to Jermaine into the end zone to win the game, will be a highlight reel for some time. Seahawks win 28 - 22 and send themselves to Super Bowl XLlX and a Feb. 1st date with the Patriots. What I appreciate is having the privilege of watching the development of this marvelous team, guided by Pete, in his short tenure in Seattle and make the Seahawks a team on the verge of becoming a dynasty. But first they must win the next Super Bowl. I also feel so fortunate to have been a part of this group and being able to share my enthusiasm along with all of you. Thank you! GO HAWKS!!! :)
