Well, 14 months since Derek left us and Ive been struggling so much. This afternoon , along with Kerry and her boys, we went to Selby Abbey for a service of Lights for Lives. My boys didnt want to do this and I so respect them for their feelings and how they cope. I was nervous and not been feeling well for days and I think it was partly due to fear of the unexpected. However, I was so moved and overwhelmed by the service and the love ,that , although I feel exhausted, I feel so much better. It has given me strength and I thank all the other bereaved ones at the service for that. Such sadness brought us all together and made us all more able to get through. The lights on the tree were amazing and represented everyone who has passed. May they always burn bright . Love to everyone who has lost a loved one . We will be strong xx
