Well I am100 percent Texan but living in Florida for 11years has taken its toll...Lol...I will say I have not lost any of my accent...a bit of a thorn in my flesh..I am so proud to be a Texan, but I seem to have a unique Southern drawl that others did not acquire..the day of my sons wedding I am having my hair straightened by someone new..She says you remind me of an actress in Hollywood...I get the same person quite often so I am expecting her to say the same person (not going to share who it is lest you fall off your chair laughing that we look nothing alike) I wait for her to say...... instead she says Kyra Sedgwick because of my accent. True story, next thing I know I here what I think is my name being said across the room. We turn off the blowdry err r and wait a few seconds and again I here Carolyn, it is my beautiful daughter in law getting her hair done...She heard my voice (accent)...She tells Lexi later I here that accent and know that is my mother in law....
