Well.... I called this one. Last week at clinic Lexis doctor had a scratchy throat & one of the nurses had a full blown cold....I said I bet money well be inpatient within a week......well, guess what!! Ugh. :(( We are at our 2nd home (HH ER) w/ Lexi due to a 104.2 fever. Cultures have been drawn, shes hooked up to antibiotics & were waiting on a room upstairs. Temp is down to 100.3 thank goodness! Lexi isnt showing any signs of being sick except the obvious - she is literally burning up. Even though the doctor wore a mask while examining Lexi last week & Lexi wasnt in direct contact with the other nurse (who I will say wasnt wearing a mask!) we still landed in the ER w/ a fever............i know i shouldnt be angry or putting blame on anyone or anything, but I cant help it because I feel this could have been prevented in more ways than one! I havent updated on Lexis progress since the end of May because honestly I am starting to become overwhelmed with all the information. Things are not going as scheduled & I feel like my brain may bust. Her counts have not been what they need to be, so her chemo doses have been cut in half or held completely. Theres just a lot going on that Im having a hard time wrapping my head around. I plan to post a more detailed update of Lexis progress since May, but for now please pray that Lexi is fever free & well enough to go home SOON. Thank you all!!!!
