Well I did my part about tomorrow & called Mr. Evans. I explained to him that although MY children will be dressed warmly & will have coats, others will not. He said parents are just going to have to get over this & adjust to the cold winter & that they WILL NOT be closing for cold weather period. I told him children have to walk to portables, & he said they need to wear their coats. I told him maybe he didnt know this BUT THEYRE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR COATS IN MOST SCHOOLS. Kids are expected to take them off & put them in their locker & keep them there until the end of the day. He said well they will need to get them out to walk to class. Umm SOME kids obey the rules...& there is NO TIME to get out of class, walk to your locker, get your coat on, walk allllll the way to the portable, & repeat as many times as necessary. He admitted he hadnt thought about that. The point remains that it is too cold! We have built in days that we will never use!! Teachers have to stand outside for 20+ min in car lines & God bless the traffic control folks! Im so disappointed in Rutherford County today.
