Well I finally done it. Was reef fishing on the East coast and some whales, which I presumed to have been a mother and baby, came by so I took my cloths off and jumped into the water. They were maybe 100 metres offshore which is an easy swim for me but I stuck within the legal limits only to find they swam up to me presumably in curiosity. Maybe it was the fact that I didnt have a 1000 horse power motor, or I didnt chase them with goggles and snorkel to do any self-interested research with a kitchen sieve, or maybe they just felt affinity to this whale like creature swimming totally naked out by them. Without goggles I could not see much, but when the mother delicately placed her gigantic pectoral fin on my shoulder and then swam off, I knew Id had the most beautiful whale encounter of anyone in human history.
