Well, I have officially been inducted into the I have had brain surgery club (along with Phyllis Benson Childress and Amber Williams ) I am home And well on my way to a beautiful road of recovery with some pretty amazing people by my side. I cant express enough how thankful I am to all of you that have called, messaged, sent me text, prayed for me, came to see me, Facebooked me, sent me flowers and yummy candy, that I cant seem to get enough of due to the high doses of steroids, lol, helped me with my kids, slept by my side in the hospital bed, cleaned my house, made me and my family dinner... I could go on and on. I will spend the rest of my life thanking God for placing each one of you near me when I needed you the most. I truly believe God has given me this experience as a gift to learn from. I am 100% at peace with what has happened and I have no doubt I will be a stronger, better person because of it. I have really been blessed beyond belief with a wonderful, supportive husband and the best, most selfless children I could ask for. As far as what happened. ... long, long story short. On my way to work Tuesday morning, I stopped to tan, when I got out of the car I developed a severe headache, nausea, hot flashes and blurry vision. Decided tanning probably wasnt a good idea, so I left there and drove to work. By the time I pulled into work I couldnt see... my eyes were having a party that I couldnt keep up with. I called my husband and then 911. I was taken to gateway, had a CT and immediately transferred to skyline. CT showed a mass on my left frontal lobe and a chiari malformation. The doctor then informed me that I may have had a stroke and several seizures. He removed a small portion of the mass to send to pathology and now we play the waiting game... I have no answers as to why this happened, nor do I need any. The most important thing on my mind right now is being the best mommy, wife and friend I can be.
