Well.... I havent been able to sleep since 2am.... but on the plus side Ive learnt how to tie a turban.... decided it would be more useful to learn how to tie a tichel....princess style instead... looked up why married Jewish women cover their hair anyway...and read surrounding arguments as to whether scarves or wigs are more appropriate hair-coverings if youre a married, Jewish woman....read another debate on whether religions which require women to cover their head/ hair are oppressive or liberating for women.... and then....... I remembered why Id looked up turban-tying in the first place and thought... hang on!..... HOW would a young, unmarried, 17thC Dutch, servant girl....presumably not Jewish.....or a Sikh KNOW how to tie a turban... or a tichel....princess style?... before YouTube was invented???......Hmmmmmm Its quite sad to think.... in the future....people will look at 21C pictures.... and they wont wonder so much about stuff like this.... coz theyll know we just Googled it!....unless..... we destroy all evidence of Google? Oh great...5am and still no sleep!....
