Well...I saved a snapping turtle this afternoon...I saw this big turtle on the shoulder near an intersection. I could see where this was going....and I couldnt let it go there! So I turned around and stopped in front of the turtle and put on my hazard lights. I thought I could put my jacket over her and carry her across. So I move towards her...she turns towards me and as I bring the jacket close to her...she lunged at me-and snapped very angrily....I could see my little jacket was not going to work. So as I am standing there contemplating, with the turtle glaring at me, two cars stop. A mother and teenage son asking if I needed help. I said yeah and pointed to the turtle! Another woman stops and says she has some blankets. So she gets out and brings the blanket and the turtle turns around and lunges at her! We finally got the blanket wrapped around the legs and head, and I put my jacket over it, and the lady picks her up and carries her across the road, over the guardrail and takes the turtle down towards the creek. *sigh* I couldnt just leave her there...so I was happy and thankful to the others who helped!
