Well Im sure quite a few people are going to disagree with my position on this whole minimum wage thing but I think its great and heres why people first off I have heard everyone equating minimum wage to fast food workers but many of you dont have a clue how many people you Interact with every day that make minimum wage or damn close to it. Now I dislike The president as much as the next guy but raising minimum wage is a social issue not a political one the cost of living in this country goes up every year significantly and it has been a long time since the last significant minimum wage increase. Many of us couldnt live off of minimum wage so why should we expect others Also everyone acts like only zit face teenagers druggie slackers and high school dropouts work in these minimum wage positions and thats not correct at all many of you would be surprised to know that when you take your $50,000 Ford Chevy or Dodge into the dealership to get it worked on by a trained mechanic they are charging you $90.00 plus an hour to work on it but many of the mechanics doing the work are making little more than 8.50 an hour generally. Bottom line is I do not think that an entry level position in a fast food restaurant is worth a whole lot of money per hr but there are a lot of companies out there that do not pay their employees properly for the work that they do and the training and education that they do have if the government has to nudge them in that direction for them to do the right thing then so be it.
