Well, Im trying again. I was a marathoner and fell 14 ft and landed flat footed on a jagged rock sticking up out of the ground. I broke the foot and especially the heel in too many pieces to count. Had two surgeries. The first was eight hours and the second was six hours. The foot was almost amputated. I was told I would not be able to walk correctly and would never run again. It has now been 2 1/2 years. I got a pair of Hoka one one conquests yesterday and ran three miles today. I am praying to be able to run the half marathon in San Antonio in December. Has anyone else out there had a disabling injury and come back?
