Well... Its down the rabbit hole of computer automated convenience/madness. Im on Expedia, just trying to book hotel reservations for my time in Dallas. I get to the end, where I expect to review my purchase, and find that its already booked, and I have no option to change it. So, I call the actual hotel, and explain that Ive booked one night LESS than what I actually need. Instead of just right there, at the actual place Im staying, adding the extra night, they tell me to either call expedia (where I was doing the original, non-changeable reservation) or simply go there and book another night. So... I go and book... I think.... another night. but when it comes up for review... (again, this stage of things shows you what youve booked, but doesnt allow changes), it appears Ive booked.... a 2nd time.... the 4-night stay I already have! So, I try to call expedia, and am confronted by the usual, say 1, if you want this... say, 5, if you want that, say 9 to repeat this menu. I try to find a way to simply get to a human. Cant manage. Try (what usually works) hitting zero... doesnt get me anywhere. Why should it be so difficult to do something so simple? I want to book for 10/16 through 10/20 (checking out on the 21st). But, It now seems to have me making two identical reservations for only the nights 17-18, 19, and checking out on the 20th... YARGHHHH!
