Well, Ive been slow to update because we just havent had any news. Today we have some. Arabella went to the cardiologist today. Clinically, she looks pretty good. Meaning, she is active, pink and not showing outward signs of distress. Now on the inside , her body tells another story. Arabellas heart has not shown any signs of improvement since her heart cath in June. The cardiologist we see in Dallas wants us to come there in September. (We also have to have her tube changed sometime in September.) If she hasnt shown any changes by then... the cardiologist will be speaking with Arabellas surgeon. Basically, we were told, that with no improvement we will likely have to start the road to being listed as status 1b for a transplant. In the meantime they may go ahead and schedule her next open heart surgery (the fontan) and possibly discuss a valve repair. The doctors dont seem to believe a valve repair will work long term. So its possible she will just have to remain on the transplant list until her heart just starts to give out and she moves to 1a, or until a heart becomes available. If she is listed for transplant, we will have to be within a certain time frame from the hospital. So Im begging you, all of you, please pray for our princess. She has been one of the biggest blessings our family has ever experienced. We are upset, confused, anxious and pretty much ever other word you can think of. We are thankful its not worse. We are thankful that she is clinically doing well. And we are so thankful for the blessings our Heavenly Father has bestowed on this family. Please if you could just take a moment to pray and to share for more prayers ...we would be incredibly grateful. Life has taught me alot of things but Arabella has taught me more. I cant imagine a single second without her. Thank you for the prayers. If you would like to send Arabella a card, letter or postcard .. Im going to start a book for her. She loves mail and pictures and Id love to start a encouragement book. A book full of encouraging words, kindness and above all love! I will be glad to give you our address if you can message the page or ask in comments. Even a stick person with a smile would make her day! Thank you all so much.
