Well Ive experienced a lot of different emotions today. Today was my last day as a senior support worker and I hadnt quite realised when I arrived on shift today that it was my last shift of supporting 2 people that I have supported for 2 years. In our jobs we are always told to not get attached as its not professional and to keep your feelings at the door, well to be honest its not quite that easy when you spend more time with them than your family! A lot of people ask how I do my job but to be honest I wouldnt of had it any other way, theres nothing more rewarding than supporting someone to do everyday tasks (that we take for granted) and teaching them these things so they have just as much chance in life as we do. I have learnt so much in the last 5 years in my job and thats to never judge anyone that is a little different as any one of us could be in that position at any point, live your life, take risks and do what makes you happy!!! I will miss my job role so much but its now my time to venture on with my career and give my time and effort to other people. Ive met some truly amazing friends on they way through this job and I am so grateful to have you all part of my future 😊
