Well, Oz had his echocardiogram this afternoon and the doctor who performed it said that it was beyond his expertise to give me any ideas as to what is actually causing the bulging atrium and ventricle and the large size. He said that because of the complexity of the case, he expects the diagnoses to take a few days and said he hoped that wed have the results early next week. It took over an hour and Oz was moved around a lot--many pictures taken and tests run. Thank goodness we did it though because although his lungs looked clear on x-ray, he has some pulmonary edema and so Dr. Casey put him on Lasix right away. So, obviously not great news, but we feel a lot better because now well be able to treat him appropriately and possibly even know better what the progression of his illness will be. Oh, and he really likes the taste of the Lasix--go figure. :) Will post more when we know what exactly is happening to his heart. Thanks to all for your support! *hugs*
