Well, Saturday at Loncon3 has flown by. I had a 2 mile stroll this morning, followed by panels on Kids writing, worldbuilding and first, second and third person POV. But the highlight of my day was meeting Darwins Pigeons in the exhibits hall. It was a beautiful selection of pigeons that demonstrated the wide variety of pigeons obtained by selective breeding. I now want pigeons again. Badly. To go with the chickens, ducks and geese. I know I cant have them, but I want them. :( And I had a lovely surprise when I ran into Elinor Busby. I had not seen her in possibly 25 years! She told me she is nearing her 90th birthday! I have to come to London to meet up with an old friend who probably lives less than 2 hours away from me! And it was peculiarly fitting to run into her at a Worldcon, seeing as how she and her husband F.M.Busby won a Hugo in 1960 for their fanzine Cry of the Nameless. It was such a pleasure to see her here and enjoying the convention. sf-encyclopedia/entry/busby_f_m
