Well, THAT was exciting! Pants and I got our shots today at the mobile vet clinic, and guess what? There was a party happening up at the shelter. Unexpected bonus prize. Its cold, so Mom bundled us up since we arent used to this. I think it was really more for her than for us, but whatever. Pants looked very cool in her Boba Fett hoodie. I always get stuck with the less fashionable old lady sweaters (why do they never make hip clothes for us BBW chicks?). At any rate, sweaters > that tutu Mom makes me wear for parades. Ill live. When we arrived, there was already a line. Dogs. Cats. Kids with dogs and cats. A mixture of all of those -- some not properly secured. Ive got some things to share on this topic: 1) You are bat poo cray for thinking its a solid plan to hold your scared cat without a leash in line to get shots like that. Durr; 2) You are also bat poo cray for letting your kid run up and down the line, treating nervous animals as if theyre in a petting zoo. Im a nice dog, but youre stressing me out and putting my mom in a sorry position where she comes off like a mean lady in order to immediately protect me from your kids dangerous behavior; 3) When Pants and I go to the vet, we arent there to make new best friends with your dog. We like other animals, and your dog is probably a down dude wed like to party with, but not right now. Not while we are listening to other dogs and cats receiving medical care ahead of us in line. Sorry, cool Ridgeback dog. This isnt my finest hour. Please, ask your dad to get your nose out of my lady parts or we are going to have to make this line ten feet longer. Seriously, dude. Enough. I know I look fancy in this sweater, thanks. Now mind your biz wax. Once inside the facility, we met a neat lady named Janie who had a fun JRT, Petie, with good manners. We respected each others spaces and made plans to run into each other at Meadowmere Park at a later date. Thats how you do it, and Im looking forward to hanging out with him in a chill enviro. Then Mom made us get in the Jeep to go home. Once again, I was bummed Pants got to ride shotgun. I think she wimps out in the car just to get the good seat next to Mom, but its ok. Im willing to compromise. All in all, I had a good time. And Im protected for another year from yucky crud. Thanks to Texas Coalition for Animal Protection!
