Well, after 700 miles, 65 hours in the saddle, and 30,000 feet of elevation gain, I have made it to the border. As I approached and saw the fence, I started feeling a bit emotional. When I got to the spot I decided was the end, I broke down and literally started sobbing-I was crying out of happiness and pride in myself, as well as pride and the good fortune of being born an American. I have never realized how much I took that for granted. Some of the tears were also for the trip coming to an end. Despite my sorrow for this adventure wrapping up, I am eager to apply what I have learned along the way about myself, life, love, friendship, and happiness to my life in the real world. Thank you to all the people who have supported me along the way, housed me, fed me, gave me advice, and cheered me on. Thank you to all the people I have met and created friendships and even ridden with me and simply talked to me. While this trip essentially started out in concept as a solo trip, I was never alone. You all helped me make the most of this journey. Thank you!
