Well, another week has come to an end and I am eternally astounded by the absurdity of the human condition. Today at the start of class I suggested the students work in small groups to review a lesson that they didnt really latch onto. After much ado about nothing I acquiesced and led the review soon the students were totally disengaged so I told them to work separately and I pulled my non speakers to focus on some vocabulary work. The silence was beautiful and as I scanned the room I saw little groups poring over their lessons and engaging in conversations about Lewis and Clark and the Louisiana Purchase. The pop quiz went well. Anyway its been a few days since weve communicated, Chris woke up with some nausea this morning but was better by eventide. She went for a walk with some of the neighbor ladies. We are floating in soup and not complaining. It nourishes the body and soul. Thank you all for your support. We are counting down the days of chemo for this round. Only three days to go and only three more rounds of radiation. It seems like a light is beginning to glow at the end of the tunnel. Chris actually broached the topic of returning to school and talked about a re entry strategy. We had a tough spell recently, both of us emotionally drained by this whole thing but we remain committed and bonded although I wish she would take her meds and drink her water RIGHT NOW! So all in all things are well with us. Looking forward to a visit from my folks and sister tomorrow. Still eating salad out of the garden and have lots of carrots in the ground yet, need to chop up some parsley to finish my Pesto, Basil is ready for the mix. Plants are in the house but not staged, that usually involves moving everything in the house and as Chris is a bit of a cat it is best done while she is out of the house. Hmmm, maybe next weekend.
