Well.....at just shy of 4 long years on daily dialysis.....and after profound disappointment from kidney offers that never materialized.....Michael Powell FINALLY received a new kidney on Wednesday!!!! I would like everyone reading this to take a moment to say a prayer for the family who selflessly donated their loved ones organs so that strangers could live. Please pray for comfort in their time of grief. Now I want to THANK everyone who supported Mike these last 4 years.....dialysis is NOT for the faint of heart. He rolled his sleeve up and allowed me to stab 2 very large needles into his arm nearly every day of those 4 years. Also, thank you to those who supported me as well. The nurses at the Davita Home Training Unit in Akron, Ohio are THE best (that includes you Tara Ackley Gibson)!!! And if you have not done so yet, sign the documents to become an organ donor.
