Well, back to reality after a very nice 15 days in Orlando. We had - TopicsExpress

Well, back to reality after a very nice 15 days in Orlando. We had both superb inward and outward flights with Virgin Atlantic. They were on time and the cabin crew were very attentive. The food was ok but only the main course on both trips. The other stuff wasnt too good I am afraid. On our outward flight we got called early as we were seated upstairs and just in front of us on the jetway was a young girl and her boyfriend, she was shaking like a leaf and he was comforting her. When we entered the aircraft they turned right and sat in an economy seat. We went upstairs and got settled in our seats and after about 10 minutes they came upstairs with one of the cabin crew and she took them into the cockpit to meet the captain, they were in there about 10 minutes. He was obviously reassuring her and explaining things to her and she did seem a bit better when she came out. I thought at the time just how nice that was of VA to do that for her, they also must have allowed them on earlier with the special needs group. It was a very nice touch Virgin and just another reason why I prefer to travel with them! :) As I have said on other posts the weather was a bit out of the ordinary for that time of year when we first arrived. I have been quite a few times at the same time and it has been more typical, hot, humid and a late afternoon/early evening storm. This year the rain came earlier in the day sometimes and also stayed longer that it should. It was just an unusual weather system, it got more normal as the holiday came to an end but it never spoilt anything for us as we only did the Universal parks and we bought an annual pass for the water parks as we do like to go to Typhoon Lagoon. The ticket cost just over $100 and when you consider it was something like $58 for a single entry, two days pays for itself. We had a night in Hard Rock Hotel to take advantage of the express passes and early entry. I can highly recommend the hotel, excellent. We took the water taxi to and from the parks and we also went out to City Walk for a few drinks on the night we stayed and when we returned to the hotel there was us and another bunch of young people and I heard one read something he had posted on his phone which was We came, we saw and we rocked the hard rock one took a photo of Jay and said your now twitter famous we just laughed and later we all got off of the boat and walked up to the entrance at the rear of the hotel. the rear entrance was shut so we all walked around the side and we got talking to them and found that they had just played at the hard rock live and that the love the UK and were touring earlier in the year and that they are going back in November and will be on Radio one. Meanwhile, I am wondering who they are cos i havent got a clue, anyway it turns out they are R5 and are quite big in the US and are getting well known in the UK too. One of the singers is in one of the teeny type TV shows over there also. Anyway sorry to ramble on, just got to start planning next years now! ;) I have added a few photos from our trip:)
