Well, cant say anyone is surprised. Amazons not going to be delivering packages by drone for a while :-) On a more serious note, this isnt super great for hobbiests. The FAA is getting stricter, attempting to categorize more activities as commercial in order to restrict what can be done. It is also threatening a large portion of the FPV community by banning the use of video goggles entirely (normally, one could have goggles as long as they had a spotter who kept eye contact with the drone). I dont think this is permanent, this is just a knee jerk reaction since theyve taken years to come up with reasonable rules for drone use. So this stuff is going to be challenged, appealed and overturned, with hopefully more reasonable restrictions in place. Too bad a really cool community has to suffer in the meantime :-(
