Well criticism tonight from Happy Harris for not posting a report from last nights Super League match at the Happy Valley Nou Camp against the Gresford Miners which exemplified the Cocklers best performance of the season. Sorry Happy bit of writers block on the electric chair last night but refreshed and full of well meant sarcasm tonight. Well the Miners full of a team of Welsh Internationalers started as favourites against Prince Charmings bottom of the league team. The first four blocks saw Kev Nich playing with his custard gobstoppers taking on Sea Captain Bailey. Sea Captain clearly in need of a win after a dismal season in the elite league was tonight in a mean mood and was soon flying the skull and crossbones singing away me lad as Kev Nich was down in Davey Jones locker after a 21 19 defeat. Next saw Happy Harris playing huffy puffy Welsh Jacko. And Jacko was soon heading back to the night shift at the mine after a 21 13 defeat. By now captain Prince Charming Harris had bottle blond Andy Delooze looking for his hair wax in the pavilion after a 21 13 defeat. Last of first four saw Little John playing Wales new Henry Cecil Andy Hughes.John after some previous poor outings had clearly found the distance to suit him winning at a canter 21 15. So 4 0 to the Cocklers and league upset on the cards. Last four blocks saw Big Stu taking on the Roof Man but after good start Stui fell behind and defeat appeared inevitable. But with the Roof Man resting on his laurels Big Stu nailed him back to 20 20. However a poor last end saw the Roof Man coming down his ladder with a 21 20 win. Next saw Jakey Jakey Stevens ( sorry Stanley ) playing lovely perm Gerwyn. Tough draw for Jakey Jakey as golden locks had green knowledge from his time as Buckos apprentice at Bangor and was soon well down. But with golden locks on the comb and mirror Jakey recovered to 19 20 down and holding two for game. But with the perm flopping down over his eyebrows golden locks crashed into the last end to save one and at 20 20 recovered his composure to bowl a class wood to win 21 20. Good effort Jakey against a class bowler. Jakeys father Chernobyl Sheep Tester Andrew was having no luck against Danny Boy Hughes who was soon back in the pavilion doing his Irish Jig winning 21 14. So now only 4 3 to the Cocklers but the Clog Man was 17 7 up on 16 year old Welsh Junior Andrew Armstrong ( birth certificate inspection required surely ) But with Andrew making his full step for manhood ( suttle play on words that only the Great Orm will get ) he mounted an unbelievable recovery and with Clogsy holding a toucher for game at 20 18 young Andy bowled a class wood to nudge Clogsys wood out to win the end. With Clogsy still in a state of shock young Andy bowled two class woods on the last end to win 21 20. So three 21 20 defeats to the Cocklers in the four last ends resulting in 4 4 draw but with aggregate secured 6 4 win for the Cocklers and still bottom of the league.
