Well deserved praise for a veteran, George Cables. However, in a tradition going back over 100 years, I think the description Old-Style Jazzman is a poor misclassification of this contemporary musician, especially since George has played with some of the most revolutionary players in jazz history (Woody, Freddie, Sonny, Bobby, Blakey, et al - are they Old Style, too?) and he is STILL playing and writing. The writer describes Georges place in the history well, but the title is WAY OFF. -WS3
