Well done KSC Rovers in today’s festival at Prestwick. Rovers started the day well with a convincing 3-0 win over Irvine Vics. Vics were strong and dangerous when shooting from range, but Rovers outclassed them in every area of the park, and by getting the ball on the ground and playing through them. Scorers, Cameron, Thomas(2) The second game was much tougher against the evetual Tournament winners Bonnyton, going down 6-1 This was both teams second game without a break in the scorching sunshine, and Rovers got off to good start taking the lead after 5 minute but Bonnyton got one back just minutes later, and from then on Bonnytons better fitness shone through, leaving us chasing shadows for much of the remainder of the match. Scorer, Declan The Last group game and the third game without a break was a cracking match against Galston that finished 2-2. This score line flattered a Galston team that had had the benefit of nearly an hour break from their previous game. Rovers were sharper all over the park, only Galstons discipline at the back, playing the off side rule prevented this from being a rout, that, and the reffs insistence on giving offside every time Galston claimed for it, there were at least 3 time we were clean through, running from our own half that the reff pulled back. Scorers, Jared, Joirdan The result against Bonnyton returned to haunt us, as we finished 2nd equal to Vics but dropped into 3rd on goal difference. The last game saw us paired against the Hosts, Caledonian, a game too far for Rovers, narrowly losing 3-2. Rovers started the better team, but had the wind knocked out of them, conceding a goal on the counter. Rovers were struggling to keep possession but were still competing and creating chances, then a second blow, another goal on the counter. With only 10 minutes Caledonian scored again and left Rovers looking down and out, then the comeback, a fine strike by the smallest guy on the park, Lewis gave the score line a bit of respectability. Kyle got another goal back with only a couple of minutes left, now it was Caledonian who looked dead on their feet, but it was not to be. Scorers, Lewis, Kyle Tournament squad, Aiden, Ben, Hutchy, Chris, Declan(1)2x yellow), Kyle (capt(1)Yellow), Lewis(1)yellow), Joirdan(1), Laughlan, Thomas(2), Ryan Devlin, Steven, Jamie, Jared(1)
