Well feel like I just watched Sammy get verbally abused at his football game today. When is it good to yell at kids as a coach I say never. The best coaches Dont yell they teach I coached alot of years and found it unnecessary. I read a book on coaching baseball a long time ago by Dusty Baker and he said it took like 28 positive things said to a professional athlete to erase one negative comment Plus what this coach told Sammy I could have taught Sammy in less than 3 minutes. If you are a coach or want to be a coach Teach dont yell. Smmy had a great game the things he did were not bad he tried to pick up the running back who wasnt being covered twice but instead of the coach finding out who wasnt covering him he went off on Sammy. And in the beginning of the game he was yelling at Sammy about outside containment and at the end he wanted Sammy attacking the QB. You se I played DE and so did Jojo in College. And I explained to Sammy the way I was told when I was young its like a Bannana peel when your coming in allways be ready to peel off and go after the ball carrier. So I asked Sammy if his coaches ever explained it to him like that or any other way and he said no. He had a great game probably 2 sacks and some tackles. Also Sam would of had another Sack but the QB straight armed him and facemasked him so he got an additional 15 yards from wear the penalty happened and the coach was telling Sammy how to tackle WTH! He got facemasked. Sorry im pissed and venting. Sammy is a good listener and didnt need this coach yelling at him.
