Well, for those who are following along- Sponsee number 3 called again today, drunk as a skunk...I was not shocked or surprised. This morning, my sponsor, had referred me to page 95: If he is not interested in your solution, if he expects you to act only as a banker for his financial difficulties or a nurse for his sprees, you may have to drop him until he changes his mind. This he may do after he gets hurt some more. (*And page 90, and page 96) ...all which I had read last night in anticipation of my mentor returning my voice mail from the night before. I let number 3 know there wasnt anything I could do for him until he was sober and entirely willing. I made it clear that my friendship was not contingent on his sobriety but that I could not watch him try to find his bottom. A few hours later, he called back, worse than before, threatening suicide and asking me to call 911 for him. I did. ...and so begins another trip to the asylum (ie Behavioral Health Unit or Medical detox or Rehab)...please keep him in your prayers. Off to the County Jail for H and I...
