Well gosh... I didnt expect so many people to ask me if I have any more stories :) Of course I have many, but this comes to mind... When we were hit by Tear Gas the entire band & myself ran away as fast as we could, but our eyes were pouring peppery fluid & being asthmatic, I couldnt breathe. Finally, I collapsed, feeling as though I was breathing fire. A truck appeared from nowhere & scooped me up. I was given oxygen & taken to first aid. At that time, I was working with a Korean band. They were fantastic musicians but they couldnt speak a word of English & I didnt know any Korean, yet we all got on extremely well. I loved my drummer, Mr Chong & we were inseparable, like brother & sister. As I was being attended to by the medical staff, Mr Chong suddenly burst into the tent, speaking loudly & emotionally in Korean. He was very obviously happy that I was relatively okay, gave me a big hug, then he ran out the door to check on the others. We had no idea you could speak Korean. Said one of the doctors. I cant speak one word. I said. But you understood every word he said. HaHaHaaaa!!!! Love, concern & elation that a close friend was okay does not need words. And I felt extremely touched that he cared so much. Soon after, this band returned to Korea & I never saw them again, but Ive often wondered how they all are, and Id so love to be reacquainted with Mr Chong if anybody knows his whereabouts. They were an extremely professional, mature band & all of them had families in Korea. So I perhaps they are still working as a group in Korea, but they would all be in their 70s now.
