Well...here we are, two days later, and I can still hear - TopicsExpress

Well...here we are, two days later, and I can still hear complaining about the election results. So you voted. Thats awesome. Maybe things went your way...maybe they didnt. The freedom to have a voice in our government has been paid for with blood many times over. It IS our duty to exercise our freedom at the poll. However, thats not where our involvement has to stop. We dont have to sit back and wait for OTHERS to make a difference in OUR lives. I think it is important that people realize: You dont have to be an elected official to make a difference; You dont need the support of a Party to be involved; You dont have to win the popular vote to be a leader. We can ALL make a difference, if we just exert OURSELVES. It begins with a willingness to help a neighbor. It evolves into a service for our community. From there, who knows? The length to which idealistic leadership can expand is immeasurable. True leadership transcends government or politics. Politics are for politicians. Government is for those who intend to govern. However, ANY ONE can be a leader. All it takes is a desire to help, a willingness to serve, and a voice of truth directed toward those who would hear. True leadership is serving, not governing. Leading is offering help to those in need. Being a leader means sacrificing of oneself, for the betterment of others. We dont have to stand on the floor of the Capitol building to make a difference. Leadership can begin in the very location we currently reside. We ALL have the tools necessary to lead, existing inside ourselves. Do you desire to lead, but are afraid you dont know how? Are you searching for an example of a TRUE leader, but arent sure where to look? If so, I recommend four books that should help put into perspective the type of leadership necessary to make a REAL difference in the world around you: The Books of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John. For who is greater...he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet, here I am among you...as the One who serves. -Luke 22:27 Dont argue and complain. Make a real difference. Read. Understand. Lead.
