Well, heres how Enzi is going to vote and I hope youre as hopping mad as I am. Mad enough to get him OUT! Mrs. Christine Christian P O Box 2018 850 Hog Island Road Jackson, WY 83001-2018 Dear Christine: The First Amendment guarantees all Americans the right to speak and associate with political candidates and parties of their choice. I believe it is imperative to protect this freedom for all Americans including those who wish to support a broad range of candidates, political parties and political organizations. This includes avoiding aggregate limits as decided in McCutcheon or limiting support for groups of citizens as recognized by the Supreme Court in Citizens United. The Supreme Court has ruled repeatedly that these donations are protected under the First Amendment and the decision in McCutcheon does not change how these donations are reported under the Federal Election Campaign Act. I believe in transparency in our campaign finance system. The public has access to information about donations a candidate receives on the FEC website, fec.gov. There are also several independent websites people can use to track campaign contributions. I will study the Fair Elections Now Act with your comments in mind. In the meantime you may be interested to know that I am an original cosponsor of a related bill, S.375, the Senate Campaign Disclosure Parity Act. The bill would amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to require all election-related designations, statements, and reports required to be filed under the Act to be filed directly with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). Thank you for taking the time to contact me. Sincerely, Michael B. Enzi United States Senator
