Well, heres where we stand: There will be no surgery for Michael. Doctors all agree that the best treatment protocol will be chemo/radiation. Good thing is, he may be a candidate for a clinical trial that would reduce his radiation treatments by two weeks and he would be given less damaging and fewer rounds of chemo than what is considered normal protocol. Lots of thoughts and prayers and sourcing that he gets in, since they have found, since starting the trial two years ago, that this form of cancer is responding very well. They are also finding that the morbidity or quality of life following these treatments is much improved.... Thanks again, everyone, for all of the thoughts, prayers, recipes, suggestions and the overall amazing love that everyone has shown us. What a blessing you all are for allowing us to share the details of this journey with you!!! It really does help, especially late in the evening when all is quiet and it feels a little lonely and scary and things go bump in the night. But enough of that! Have a great weekend and now were on to having an awesome, fun-filled, no cancer allowed to interrupt next couple of days. I do believe I hear my Siren sisters and Restless calling!
