Well, im sorry to say but im coming off facebook (personally) this week. Its been very difficult communicating with customers through facebook and although i have 2 phone lines facebook is by far the most preferred choice for buyers to ask questions and make orders. Unfortunately as a seller its the worse choice as customers only get a limited view of the fan page depending on the device (ipad / smart phone / iphone / desktop) they use. I cant tell you how many times people ask me where the warehouse is even though i have a fully filled in about us section on the page with address, phone numbers, opening hours etc etc.. or the price of a piece of furniture even though there is a whole photo album of the furniture on the page but they cant see it on their mobile device. On top of this the posts reach an increasingly narrower audience even though ive been paying more to facebook (bit greedy how they hold back the organic posts if you ask me). Finally i get orders on my personal page, personal messages, by fan page comment (expecting me to initiate a private conversation which as a page facebook prohibits), by fan page private message, land line, mobile, mobile sms and in the warehouse lol - it takes me hours to go through these each day sorting out the orders from the people that want more info and the messrs that just want to waste more time. Soooooooo the website is about to go live and with it a lot of benefits for my customers. It will be much easier to find what you want and all the information with be easily available. I will only be taking orders online or in the warehouse when it goes live in a few days and will be closing down the private messages functions on my page and on the fan page. Ill still be posting to the face book groups and the fan page but it will be a link to a special on the website. Its much more enjoyable speaking to someone face to face or over the phone than spending hours sifting through the facebook new feed where you have to read about someone moan about something or a picture of their willy or a post about someone getting stabbed and all the other stuff i choose not to read when i decided 15 years ago not to buy tabloid newspapers anymore lol. So there you have it... ive said it and i look forward to meeting you all in the real world soon :D
