Well im still writing my Leadership Survivor Manual 28 years in full time ministry have taught me a lot! YIKES! so far im on chapter 3 When the Sheep Bite How to overcome the attack from the pew Leaders Sneak .. Always remember sheep have no natural defense So one is alway contrived by ... whatever.. is necessary to attack a leader . For a leader to understand why when how people leave a church or ministry one must learn to discern and heed to the warnings or clues in the wake. Often leaders cannot cope with people leaving because they have invested so much into them they are like family But not all family will stay home.. So much talk over the years is about bak leaders well here is a great clue if the leaders a all bad then created bad followers ... A Vicious Cycle Emerges . Clues: 1 Repentance is always a good place to start! 2 When you ( The Leader) are attacked always try to find out why and reconcile it Signs of Those leaving A Church or Ministry.?? Most people dont know how to leave ... they have a fictitious fear of the leader who loved them. Or they find fault most often many leave because of fear of offence. Yes some leave out of rebellion Some leave because they are called to go So me leave because they cannot become accountable etc... But usually the way they leave is because they dont know how to leave . Here are a few tips of discernment.. If we recognize these we might stop and offence Often i have tried to reconcile but many will not reconcile because they really dont know how to. Remember this scripture Matt 6 : 24 No man can serve two masters they will love one and hat the other. Hate become the answer so one feels no guilt its a justifiable offence in their mind Never realized the impact they have left on those behind. Seem like in order to leave in many cases a case of despise comes forth ONLY because they dont know how to leave. Signs of a nearing departure.: A they no longer sit in the front moved to the back B they tell others why they are not in church ( never the pastor) C they no longer engage in activities in the church D they gradually leave ( looking for another church) E they quite giving of their tithe and offering F they finally leave looking for an offence instead of reconciling I really believe when someone feel they need or just want to go they should always reconcile and maintain relationship with their leader ( when possible) and receive a leaving blessing Ok thats the overture of this chapter have a lot to write about after 28 years in fulltime ministry love to life and you can stay in the race ...
