Well, it finally happened. After 15 years of writing advertising copy, I just did what I always knew Id to do someday. It wasnt being forced to write Youll hit a home run at Bobs Discount Tires! for a radio ad during a baseball game. No, far worse. I was just tasked with a piece targeting the Millennials. It features a kid doing a trick on a skateboard. It needed a headline. And...well...I had to look up skateboarding slang so I could talk to them in their own language. I just became the old man trying to sound cool. What I wrote is fine. No one will see it. Know one will know. Except me. I am fully aware of what I have done, and expect Karma to make things right again. Im sorry, 20-somethings. Ill leave my Iron Maiden tee shirts at the door, and see myself out.
