Well, it may have been a snooze-fest for some, but, in my eyes, the game turned out just perfectly – because the team I didn’t want to get the Ring lost - & badly!!! And, even better yet, the golden boy was completely SILENCED! But, now, for the really important stuff...drum roll....Julie’s annual Super Bowl commercial analysis! It was not a spectacular showing – but, I’ll still pick the “top” ones in the distinct categories, per tradition….And, by the way, I happened to really enjoy the halftime show too (both Bruno & the Chili Peppers!)! Funniest: 1. Audi - Breed the dogs – Sarah McLachlan was THE best part! 2. Volkswagen – German engineers getting their wings - & rainbows out their butts 3. RadioShack – 80’s called & wants their store back! 4. Bud Light – Don Cheadle, llama, twin, Arnold ping pong, One Republic….but, where did the rest of the commercial go? Seemed like a “to be continued” thing – but then mysteriously disappeared 5. Honda “puppy love” – was that Gizmo? HA!!! 6. Hyundai Genesis – automatic braking (Dads saving kids in various situations) 7. Oikos – Full House crew…funny! 8. TurboTax - Prom = football. ….”not Sean’s” 9. Cheerios – You’re getting a baby brother….”& a puppy” 10. Seinfeld halftime skit – not technically a commercial. But, who cares – just great to see those characters again!!! Most heartwarming/ inspirational: 1. Budweiser – Dog & horse….got goosies! 2. Microsoft – Technology gives hope to the hopeless. 3. Chevy – American Cancer survivors 4. Budweiser –Military homecoming/Salute a hero 5. Beckham...just ageless…. :) Biggest Disappointments: 1. GoDaddy – “I quit”…..looks to me like GoDaddy just quit trying altogether! 2. M&M’s… mobsters – punch line (that it was an M&M’s commercial) fell flat 3. Geico – you have a cute pig & that’s it?! 4. Too many movie/tv show/music promos….yet again! BUT, the “24” teasers certainly did the job! Most confusing?: 1. Maserati – “Strike”….What? And, how many of us could even contemplate buying one anyway?! 2. Pandora – Huh???
