Well its Thursday again, and in the spirit of me actually being consistant with something online its time for another post for Electronic Music History Appreciation Day! This week I thought Id change the pace up a little bit since Ive been posting up cosmic German stuff in the last few weeks, so this week lets jump over to mid 80s Detroit and have listen to the absolutely lesser known classic Telephonic Power by the mysterious 857. Theres pretty much no knowledge about who did this record and theres not much info about it other than it was promo white label, it came from Detroit, it appeared in 1985 and that it now changes hands for a shit tonne of money on the second hand market if you can find someone selling a copy, but who cares, cos its an absolute cracker slab of Detroit electro funk! I used to have this track on a mixtape (on an actual tape! Halcyon days!) I got from some random many moons ago and hadnt heard it for years until recently so my hat goes off to whoever posted it on the Tube!
