Well its been 22 years, and I think I can officially say this has been the best birthday yet. Most of my friends know that I hate PDA (or really any DA), but just wanted to share our happy news with all of you- Maryam Mir and I are engaged! These last few weeks have been a whirlwind, but I am glad I am finally able to share! Coming into Penn (Wharton), I never would have expected to be in a relationship (and let alone get married!) during my time here. Who would have thought that the Bahraini girl with Amy Winehouse-esque eyeliner who sat next to me on that first day of MGMT 100 would be someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with? :P Maryam- I can honestly say you are the best, most thoughtful, caring person I have ever met. Youve taught me so much about love and maturity; though I was slow to realize, life isnt all about whether you have this seasons fashion or how many apartments your family owns in Dubai highrises. Ive learned that a persons character isnt determined by material possessions or outward appearance, but by the content of their Tumblr reblogs and Upworthy shares. In the last 4 years, Weve been through lots of highs (our first date at Aksum, my Snapchats) and the lowest of lows (that year you had a PC, that time you wore Skechers in public) and I cant wait to continue this ride with you and our 3/4 Indian children. Though you may not be Princess Meriam, youll always be my Queen :) Sorry boys, but the souk has officially closed!
