Well its been a brilliant day but also a sad day. Were off to Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow in the morning which means Eileidh has to leave her nurses & doctors, some of whom will have left RACH by the time we come back :( Shes really going to miss them :( Eileidh had her blood transfusion (red blood cells) this morning at 7am. a very early start for her compared to usual. She was fasting from 6am for the anaesthetic, so she was rather hungry, trying to acquire food from wherever she could ;) lol. We took her down for her MIBG scan at 12.30. The anaesthetic was rather amusing. Every time the anaesthetist thought she was about to sleep & let go of her, she tried to climb off the trolley, even with her eyes rolling & almost shut! She also tried to climb up Lauren (her favourite student) & also clung around my neck! Oh dear, she has to fight everything ;) When we went down to collect her from recovery, once she had woken up, she decided she wasnt staying on the trolley & tried to get off again, falling side to side when she tried to sit up, so I ended up carrying her back to her bed. She has finally finished her antibiotics so we can take her to Glasgow by car. Her bum is even sorer today, looking very like she has been scalded as its so red & blistered, which seems to cover the entire nappy area. Nothing seems to be helping it & we havent heard from Tissue Viability so hopefully Yorkhill will be able to give her something to help with it. Spoke to her consultant earlier & he is really pleased with her progress. When he told us that her bone marrow was clear, I could have kissed him!! Between that & the initial results of the MRI, we couldnt have asked for anything more :) Once the full results are back from MRI & MIBG, they will be passed on to her doctor in Yorkhill for us & then surgery will start to be arranged if the results are good enough. She still has a few more tests to have once we get back but so far, so good :) Once she recovered from the anaesthetic, we got to take her out for a few hours so we went to Grannies house to see her before we leave & had supper there :) Happy Eileidh
