Well, its official. Collin has passed me up, he is taller than I am. I know In not tall, but he is my BABY! How did this happen? I mean I knew it would, but Im not ready yet. Its just another one of those milestones with your kids where you think wow, he is really growing up. Like when he started pre-school (that was a hard one), or lost his first tooth, put on his football uniform for the first time (he was 6), or didnt need a booster seat anymore, or stopped ordering off the kids menu (he was 4), or when he had to buy mens size shoes the first time (he now wears a 10 1/2), or when he sprouted hair under his arms and need deodorant, and TONS of Axe, or when he was allowed to stay home alone for the first time, or was invited to his first boy-girl party. All of those times, and so many more, I thought just slow down, you are growing up too fast, and someday you are going to pass me up. Well, the other night it happened, I looked over at him, standing in my parents driveway, where I had pulled him from his car carrier a million times, and realized I was looking UP at my little boy. So we went back to back, and sure enough, he had me by a half inch, and I went home and cried, because Im going to glance over the next time, and he will be starting high school, and then driving, and then graduating, and then off to college, and then a full blown MAN!! YIKES! So mammas of little boys, bend over and kiss them on the top of their little heads today, because trust me, before you know what hit you, that little one clinging to your leg, or tugging on your t-shirt will be looking down at you, and you will wonder how in the world did you grow up so fast??
