Well kids, today was an adventure...I went to the 100th - TopicsExpress

Well kids, today was an adventure...I went to the 100th Anniversary open house at the Purdue Feldun Farm. Peggy Buck accompanied me and was a great tour guide and introduced me to many delightful folks. Since we registered around 2:30 the air temp was about 90 and just a bit later the heat index hit 112 so we were about to melt! Then the plot thickened!! Just at the time we were to board the trams to tour the 600 plus acre farm thunder rumbled and it began to rain. A t-storm rolled thru and we were all drenched with rain blowing in the open-sided trams. They announced 1.6 of rain had fallen during a brief time and all of us had the wet hair, clothing and shoes to prove it too!! A very nice steak dinner was catered and the program had to be cut short due to another strong t-storm heading our way. Most attendees had parked in a grassy area which had turned into muddy ruts as we were exiting. Peggy and I pretended we were experienced mudders as we pulled out. Thankfully, we were able to drive around the worst muddy areas and exited to the state highway with no problem. A big thank you to Mark Z. for inviting me and 2 thumbs down to Mother Nature for raining on our day at the farm!! So there you have my big adventure for today!
