Well looky, friends. Today, a day on which I hear that the mayor wants to lure the George Lucas Museum to the parking lot of Soldier Field (whaa?) and plans to spend $10M on a new...tennis...facility...in...Washington...Park, on a day when we read new stories of the failure of the catastrophic school closings either to save money or improve schools (Ill post some of those later), here we see that this unfunded nobody, this young non-politician, this thoughtful intense highly optimistic Chicagoan, is throwing herself into the mayoral race. Heres what she says to the obvious question: If youre going to say that the only viable candidate is the candidate who can raise $7 million, you are saying there are no viable candidates except for Rahm and were destined to only have a mayor whose policies reflect a man who raises so much money.
