Well said, Andrew Porter. My dads dad was a lad of 18 in 1944. A slightly quieter bloke from sunny Kent, together with the shipmates on his destroyer, he was at D-day... and strangely enough, when we sat down to breakfast with him yesterday, there werent any musings on the imminent 70th anniversary of throwing off the yoke of Labors red tape burden. No reminiscence of the storied campaign to cast off the shackles of a hitherto uncertain regulatory environment. No crossing the Rhine co-payment. No ode to market solutions to totalitarianism. No mechanisms to price the fascists out of the domination market.
