Back then, the common chants was boring arsenal, 1 - nil arsenal. But well, we manage to close out matches and earn 3 pts. Look at present, we concede late goals easily. We have no organisation when defending frm set pieces. Its just the easy way out of zonal marking. There is no leader there to direct the team, give instructions. So u find weird outcome like chambers marking crouch during stoke game when Mertesacker height will be more suited. When the team lose possesion, they are lost and do not knw hw to recover or win it back. I rmber in the 90s, the adam and co will not allow e opponent to crack a shot. They will just lunge in and threw their body into the way. Today, we see mertesacker darting away, like wat carragher said abandon ship. A title winning side needs to build on a solid defence. Look at hw chelsea did it when mourinho first came. Similarly, liverpool lose it last yr becos they concede too much. This is long term problem that we never fully address
