Well, that sucked. Great opportunity wasted and the Lambeau Futility Streak continues. Blerg. You clearly didnt take the dramatic Coach Dale paraphrased pre-game speech in my earlier post to heart. That said, we are still in the tournament. That said, the two teams that will meet in Dallas next week are seemingly headed in two directions, execution-wise, so here are a few pointers for my team to help them avoid the SOL ignominy of the “one and done”: 1) Show up ready to play. Don’t play the first few series like you are still on the bus, plane, etc. allowing the opposing team to gash your vaunted No. 1 run defense repeatedly. 2) After you score a great TD to tie the game at 14-14, don’t immediately kick the ball OB giving your opponent a short field that results in a quick TD. 3) When you force a long FG try that gets blocked, don’t immediately piss away the momentum by fumbling (with no defensive contact, mind you) the handoff on the very next play. 4) Don’t play QB like Jekyll and Hyde, lasering/threading some throws and missing/throwing behind wide open receivers on many others. 5) Don’t wait until the end of the game to put the smug, smirking opposing QB on his ass for the first time. In a similar vein, try periodically to hit or at least hurry the opposing QB. If you don’t, you make your d-backs try to keep up with receivers who are running free, catching balls in stride. You will also help the television network broadcasting the game to perpetuate its “brave wounded warrior quarterback” storyline and cause your fans to have to turn off the TV sound for fear of puking on themselves. The pundits will say that you will not have a chance to win. We want a different storyline. The only way we get it is if you write it. That can start next week in Dallas. Your move.
