Well, that was something. There are folks on my wall, whom when I say, Emirikol the Chaotic, a vision of a Pen & Ink Drawing in a AD&D manual immediately comes to mind. I will post some images in the comments. Trampier signed his work in the D&D books as DAT or just D. Those books were PACKED with his art. Say the word Liche to a D&D player of a certain age and his image is there, floating in your subconscious. We, a generation before the visuals of the computer age were available to us, were deeply influenced by this guys work. His illustrations were major part of my childhood, and I didnt even realize it until last year, when Tony DiTerlizzi posted about his being influenced by Trampier. The oddest thing, that his fans will be left wondering about, is why he quit. Some time ago, Trampier left the illustration world and became a cab driver. As the children who were impacted by his art came of age and his influence was better understood, folks were contacting him and apparently he was considering returning to the fandom world. Thank David for the pictures, for the illusions, for the Lizardmen and Kobold. For the first time I imagined what it would really be like to draw a long sword. For the feeling of casting spells, and for the wonder of it all.
